From plate to logged without the math.
Most calorie counters ask you to search, weigh and type. Caloit starts from what you’d do anyway: look at your food.
Snap it, or say it
Photograph your plate, choose a photo you already took, or describe it: “two eggs, toast and half an avocado.” Type it or dictate it.
Everything you log, none of the busywork.
Photos are the fast lane, but Caloit covers every way you eat: packaged, repeated, described or typed in by hand.
No photo? Just describe it.
Type or dictate what you ate and Caloit logs it the same way. Dictation is transcribed on your iPhone.
Barcodes, free forever
Scan a package to look it up. No AI, no trial, no limit.
Labels, read for you
Photograph a nutrition label and pick your serving.
Your week at a glance
A ring for every day shows intake against your budget. Tap any day since you joined to log to it, and keep your logging streak going.
Progress, not pressure
Log your weight to see the trend, how far you’ve come, and an honest estimate of when you’d reach your goal.
Today, on your Home Screen
Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets show what’s left today, with a shortcut straight to the camera.
Your regulars, on repeat
Save foods and whole meals, or copy a recent entry to today. No AI needed, so it never touches your daily allowance.
Reminders, only if you want them
Breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner nudges at times you choose. All of them start switched off.
Targets that show their work.
Caloit doesn’t pull a number out of thin air. Your daily budget comes from published equations, and the app shows you exactly how it got there.
- Your maintenance estimate uses the 2023 Dietary Reference Intakes energy equations and one plain-English question about how much you move.
- Want to lose or gain? The daily adjustment comes from the NIDDK Body Weight Planner model, not a rule of thumb.
- Macro targets start from the middle of the published DRI ranges for your age. Change any of them whenever you like.

What your Lock Screen shows. That’s all.
Private by default
Your photos and diary are private to your account. There’s no feed, and your username isn’t public or searchable.
Dictation stays on your phone
Speech is transcribed on your iPhone. No audio is recorded, stored or sent; only the text is.
Your body stays out of AI
Your weight, height, age and sex are never sent to AI providers or to analytics.
Not a training set
Your photos and descriptions aren’t used to train or evaluate AI unless you choose to opt in.
Discreet notifications
Lock Screen alerts say your meal is ready, never what you ate or how many calories it had.
Take it or delete it
Export everything as JSON or CSV at any time, or delete your account and the data with it.
Free to track. $5 to skip the typing.
The tracker is free for as long as you like. Pro adds the AI that does the logging for you.

What is Caloit?
Caloit is a calorie tracker app for iPhone. You photograph a meal or describe it in a few words, and Caloit logs estimated calories, protein, carbohydrate and fat to your day. You can then adjust the portion, correct the entry in plain English with Fix this, or edit any number yourself.
How accurate are the estimates?
Caloit estimates what’s in the photo or description, item by item, and labels every result as an estimate. It can’t know what you left on the plate, so you set how much you ate with the portion, correct anything with Fix this, or edit the numbers yourself.
Do I need a card for the free trial?
No. The 3-day trial starts when you first use an AI feature, asks for no payment details and never turns into a charge on its own. There’s one trial per account and per iPhone. When it ends you’re back on Free, with everything you logged still there.
What can I do without paying?
Everything except the AI logging: barcode scanning, food search, manual entries, portions and edits, saved foods, calorie and macro targets, your weight and progress charts, the logging streak, reminders, widgets, and exporting or deleting your data.
Why are there daily AI limits?
Pro includes 20 AI logs (photos, labels and descriptions) and 20 AI edits a day, which is plenty for normal eating and keeps Pro at $5. Barcodes, search, saved foods and manual entries don’t count toward them.
How is my calorie budget set?
From your details and one question about your usual activity, using the 2023 Dietary Reference Intakes equations, plus an adjustment from the NIDDK Body Weight Planner model if you want to lose or gain. You can change the target, and your macros, anytime.
Does Caloit connect to Apple Health?
Not at launch. Your budget comes from your details and usual activity rather than measured workouts, and you log your weight in the app.
Is it on Android, or outside the US?
Caloit launches on iPhone, in English, on the US App Store. We’ll share news about other platforms and countries when there is some.
When can I get it?
We’re building it now. Caloit is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone.
